General and Special
Revelation - General Revelation (Part Two)
Now that we have had the chance to look at
General Revelation just a bit, let’s look at some basic Bible passages to
illustrate the point.
1.
One
standard passage is Job 36:24 - 37:24.
Most of us are fairly well familiar with this passage. These verses suggest that such things as
thunder, rain, lightening and the bright sun are all examples of how we can see
God in nature.
2.
Another
passage is Psalm 19:1 ff that begins “The heavens declare the glory of God; the
skies proclaim the work of His hands.”
This entire chapter is replete with general revelation references.
3.
In
John 1, reference is made that in Jesus there is life. The rest of this chapter makes a number of
references to general revelation.
4.
Also
see Acts 15:15, 17 and 17:22, 23. Also
Romans 2:14, 15.
5.
Check
out Romans 1:18-2.
Next time we will look at special revelation.
